In my reading this morning, I saw a scripture in Ephesians chapter two. It read,

When I read the part that said,
“you were dead.”
I stopped for a moment because I was in-fact living.. but I read on.
Something, something, “ways of this world”… ehh ok, “ruler of the kingdom of the air.”
Not gonna lie, I paused because, well..
I’m a flight attendant!!! Air?! But anyway, I gathered the evidence.
God was talking about the ruler of the kingdom of the air’s spirit. It’s at work in people who are walking around like living people, but they’re actually dead.
“The spirit who is now at work in those.”
I’ve seen enough zombie movies to know that the zombies are walking and moving around like they’re living.. but they are dead.
If that’s not enough, it gets really creepy and says, “all of us lived among them.”

Um yikes. All of us, like who? Me? I was one?Or.. am I one?
“gratifying the cravings of our flesh.”
I stopped there because I suddenly pictured myself as a withering zombie desperately chasing down people who were alive, and feeding on their flesh and blood to survive.
Thankfully, the story, I mean Bible verse, took a turn.
But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions
I pictured God giving his son the antidote, who fed it to me, and suddenly I’m alive and healthy again.

“And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,”
Realms.. *noted

So, if I’m raised up into a heavenly realm because of this antidote that God’s son gave me, I’m brought back to life and no longer a zombie. *wipes sweat.
What was still a little unnerving was the fact that yes, I’m alive, but now I’m walking through a world full of flesh satisfied zombies.
How would I stay alive, and safe among the dead now?
I found safety and peace when I read Colossians 1.

Ok so God, gave Jesus the antidote that made me alive. This antidote qualifies me to be part of this sacred group of holy people, and we get to abide in the kingdom of light… wow! Plus, I’m rescued from the dominion of darkness which is the realm that the zombies exist in.
We have redemption which means we are saved from the said Zombies and their leader, and the new realm kinda seems like a safe zone.
